I found a tutorial that shows you how to create a simple flower design in Photoshop. Here’s my first attempt.

With a crowd to feed for Saturday’s party, I ended up using almost every dish in my house. When I set up my Greek platter (mini pitas, feta cheese, hummus, sliced bell pepper, and kalamata olives), I wanted the olives to be in their own dish because they’re a little oily. Alas, I was out of little bowls. I got creative and put the olives in a wine glass (with a little silver-plated fork I picked up at an antique store for $1). It ended up looking kinda pretty.

Ran into a neat Photoshop tutorial about creating a stencil from a photograph. I think it could be a good first step to some t-shirt printing (like the super cute stuff ErikaJean does).

My four-year-old just loves playing with glow sticks. I keep a little stash of them to give him once in a while when he’s bored. He got into them the other day, and linked a bunch of them together into a chain (they’re the flexible ones you can use as bracelets etc.). He was very excited to show me how bright they looked in the bathroom with the lights off, which gave me a great idea…

We had a birthday party for my mother this year. She told us not to make “a big deal” out of it.

I’m always mildly amused and fascinated by the things people scribble inside bathroom stalls. This one was very cheerful. And French!

The house was full of visitors this weekend, and there was just no time for blogging.
